Description of Duties:
The Clinical Center Associate performs clerical support functions in the Infusion Center, answers routine inquiries and will schedule patient appointments and ancillary testing. The Clinical Center Associate maintains and coordinates clinic schedules, manages the co-pay collection process, enters data into EMR, assists patients and visitors, greets patients, check in patients, verifies insurance information and acts as a receptionist/handles phone calls. The Clinical Center Associate transcribes physician orders, participates in the team or group work activities in the clinic, orders supplies; and picks up, drops off and distributes mail from the mail room. Duties will be performed with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Applicants must have a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree or as Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D., completion of an RPCI-approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related medical field, at least one year of experience with scheduling systems and Electronic Medical Records systems, and expert technological skills and knowledge of medical terminology. The candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
