Description of Duties:
The Medical Records Administrator manages the daily operations of the sections of the Health Information Management Department; coordinates and manages the Health Information Management (HIM ) department efforts to maintain the accuracy, availability, regulatory compliance and privacy of the patient medical record; assures that the data, whether paper or electronic, meets medical, legal, and ethical standards.
Certification registered with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC), or National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), including but not limited to RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CPMA, CPCO, CPPM or CTR.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time medical record experience, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time medical records experience, including one (1) year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
The preferred candidate will have two years of supervisory experience and two years experience with electronic and hybrid medical records.
