Description of Duties:
The Programmer/Analyst provides clinical programming support to biostatisticians and clinical and scientific colleagues in the analysis and reporting of clinical trials and other scientific studies. Provides strong statistical programming expertise, in particular in SAS and collaborates on the development of programs to extract data from the clinical database and store in a standard manner (e.g. CDISC, SDTM, and ADaM) for the use by self or other programmers or statisticians. Contributes to the development, validation. and implementation of standard reporting systems, including SAS macros and graphing utilities. Collaborates on the development and implementation of programming standards and conventions. Works closely with Data Management to ensure data quality by performing ad hoc analysis and developing standard programs for this reporting. Participates in fulfilling reporting to satisfy FDA regulations and in the creation of data sets and metadata for data sharing.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in programming of mainframe or PC information systems as it relates to technology used at the Institute. The preferred candidate will have a Master's degree in statistics or biostatistics or related field, SAS certification or experience demonstrating such expertise and knowledge, excellent knowledge of SAS programming and associated features and their applications in clinical trial data setting, two or more years of SAS programming experience in a relevant setting, understanding of clinical trial data and extremely hands on in data manipulations, analysis and reporting of analysis results.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
