Description of Duties:
The Programmer/Analyst supports the Radiation Medicine Department by managing all departmental workstations and peripherals, managing departmental software upgrades, oversees departmental backup and disaster recovery procedures. Works with IT Department to coordinate database maintenance, security and software updates, and printer and device setup. Provides end user support within the Radiation Medicine Department for application and hardware issues. Engages in departmental application development, including routine and intermediate computer program analysis and design. Researches supportive data and writes, codes, tests, and debugs computer programs. Monitors program implementation determining optimum capacity of computer hardware and software. Designs programs accordingly.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in programming of mainframe or PC information systems as it relates to technology used at the Institute.
The preferred candidate will have experience with the following tools and languages: SQL, object oriented programing, Windows Server Management, HL7 Integration Tools, network operations (IP addressing, VLAN, firewalls, etc). The candidate will also have programming experience with Clinical Healthcare vendor products (ex. Mosaiq, Eclipse). The candidate will have good written and oral communication skills, good analytical skills and experience in developing test plans and design documents.
