Description of Duties:
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist performs technical laboratory work of advanced difficulty under Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) to generate clinical grade cell therapy products and sample lot release assays. Troubleshooting, development and implementation of standard operating procedures, calibration,maintenance, quality control, qualification of equipment, meticulous record keeping following CGMP standards, ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies and reagents, environmental monitoring (viable and non-viable article counts), picking up and delivering cell products, national and interational shipping of cell products, making improvements on currently used and new techniques/methodologies on a continual basis. This position will work in a highly regulated environment, maintaining several regulatory certifications and accreditations as well as obtaining and interpreting data.
Applicants must have possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York The preferred candidate will have training in basic tissue cell culture with CGMP & GLP training. The candidate will have experience in the following: sterile tissue culture work with previous work experience in a cell processing laboratory, working with human apheresis products, blood, bone marrow, HSC preferred; writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures, reading methods from scientific literature and adapting, optimizing laboratory protocols, working under Good Manufacturing Practices and understanding of CGMP regulations and quality. The preferred candidate will have knowledge of flow cytometry techniques and understanding of CGMP regulations and quality, proficiency in MS Office Suite, and will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
