Description of Duties:
The Pharmacist dispenses medications to oncology patients in a specialty/retail pharmacy setting, interacts with patient’s insurances and confirms payment, collects copays, counsels patients, solves drug related issues, monitors medication therapy, provides drug information to the patient and medical staff, manages the drug inventory, complies with NYS & Federal pharmacy laws, and may provide specialized services related to quality improvement and chemotherapy management.
Applicants must have a License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York, Doctor of Pharmacy degree; or Master’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience. Retail and Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.
