Description of Duties:
The Cytotechnologist performs cytology screening, evaluation, and interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides, assists with FNA and EUS procedures and staining, and performs other routines clinical laboratory procedures/tasks, including specimen accessioning, report generation, quality control, preventative maintenance, and quality improvement activities.
1. License to practice as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or
2. Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or
3. Bachelor’s degree with a one (1) year course of study at an accredited school of Cytotechnology and eligibility for licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York.
The preferred candidate will have experience with clinical cytology, fine needle aspirate/rapid evaluation procedures, Microsoft office suite proficiency, excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work with a diverse population in a direct patent care setting.
