Description of Duties:
The Nurse II performs duties to include but not limited to: care of the critical care patient, patient and family teaching related to disease site cancers, treatments, and diagnostic as well as procedural interventions, excellent patient advocacy and able to demonstrate a high level of emotional and psychosocial support for patients and families.
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or
2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or
3. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Board certification (OCN, CCRN, ASMN), previous experience in critical care, med-surg, and telemetry, and will have participated in a department, organization or unit based committee/workgroup. The preferred candidate will be flexible, self-directed, team oriented, accountable, and have excellent customer service.
