Description of Duties:
The Laboratory Animal Services Attendant performs tasks that directly impact the health and well-being of laboratory animals: animal husbandry, providing adequate, clean food, water and housing; direct animal contact, routine sanitization of animal holding areas and ancillary spaces. The Laboratory Animal Services Attendant will also perform and maintain record keeping including animal census and sanitization logs, operate mechanized cage wash equipment to sanitize and sterilize microisolator caging. Occasional weekend and holiday work as necessary.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or G.E.D. The preferred candidate will have previous experience working in a laboratory animal facility where duties involved indirect/direct animal contact.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
